MakeMKV · Headless Queue · Pipeline Integration

MakeMKV automation that takes the repetition out.

MakeMKV is the trusted standard for disc ripping. HomeOps wraps it into a fully managed queue — so drive detection, title selection, and encoding handoff happen without you opening the interface.

Same MakeMKV engine. No manual steps.

Headless operation

HomeOps runs MakeMKV without you opening the interface

Configured title rules

Set selection criteria once — main title, duration threshold, or extras

Queue continuity

Failing discs are isolated so the rest of the queue keeps draining

The Limitation

MakeMKV is powerful but fully hands-on.

MakeMKV does exactly what it's supposed to do. The problem is that it's built for interactive use — every rip requires you to launch the app, select titles, configure the output, and wait. For regular ripping or clearing a backlog, that workflow stops scaling quickly.

There's no built-in queue, no drive monitoring, and no handoff to an encoder when the rip finishes. All of that coordination falls on you, every time. For anyone processing a larger collection, that adds up fast.

What MakeMKV needs from you today

01Launch MakeMKV for each disc
02Wait for disc scan to complete
03Review and select the right titles
04Set or confirm the output directory
05Start the rip and monitor for errors
06Move the file when it finishes
How HomeOps Wraps MakeMKV

A managed queue around the engine you already trust.

HomeOps adds drive monitoring, title selection rules, queue management, and error isolation on top of MakeMKV — so the ripping engine you rely on becomes fully automated.

01

Automatic disc detection

HomeOps monitors the drive. When a disc is inserted, it queues the rip job using your configured MakeMKV settings — no manual launch required.

02

Configurable title selection

Define rules for which tracks to rip: main feature by longest duration, specific extras, or all titles. HomeOps applies them consistently every time.

03

Output path routing

Ripped files land in the correct staging path for the destination library — ready for the encoding queue without any manual file management.

04

Error isolation and retry

A disc that stalls or produces a read error is flagged and retried without blocking other work. The queue keeps moving regardless.
